Description

GVW DESCRIPTION

GenVI 12ch x 10A Dimmer/TRUpower wallmounted rack with individual RCD/MCB per channel.  Screw terminals for power and load connections.

Equally at home in the lighting, sound and video markets, the GVW uses TruPower allowing configuration of any of its outputs (in any combination) to be an 8-bit or 16-bit dimmer or a direct power relay channel. This enables the GVW to dim traditional lamps or power moving lights, LED fixtures, video screens or audio power amplifiers – in fact any situation where controlled power distribution or dimming is required.

The colour touchscreen offers the ability to set each channel individually, control the outputs locally and view any external fault conditions that may be present.

As well as having local and DMX control, the GVW is also RDM (Remote Device Management) enabled, allowing the user to change the DMX address of the unit and view any fault conditions including over-temperature and loss of phase or DMX signal from any RDM controller.

Each circuit on the GVW is protected by an RCBO, rated at either 10A or 25A. Optional Neutral Disconnect MCBs can be provided where RCBOs are not desirable.

The GVW offers a sophisticated rigger's control that can replay scenes or chases, each of which can be individually programmed in addition to a 'DMX loss' scene that can be activated as an emergency backup on loss of a DMX signal. This emergency backup scene can be programmed via the front-panel controls or via a snapshot of the DMX input signal.

ABOUT GENVI GVW

The GVW takes the incredibly popular GenVI dimmer /distro technology and houses it in a compact wallmount chassis for permanent installation into venues.

The GVW is available with either front-mounted GPO outputs (for use with patch bays, such as the LSC REDBACK patch bay series) or with internal screw terminals for hardwired applications. The minimal height of the unit allows four to six GVW wallmount racks to be placed vertically on a wall to achieve a greater density of dimmers than with alternative products.

In conjunction with the REDBACK patch system, up to four GVW racks can be installed each side of the patch bay, allowing for 96 channels of dimming/power distro and patch bay to be installed in an area of only 1.8m high x 1.7m wide. This combination allows the controls to be within a comfortable working height (between 1.8m and 1m), whilst ensuring no cables touch the floor, eliminating Workplace Health and Safety risks often encountered with other systems.

The hardwired variant has the terminals on the rear of the chassis, forming an installation frame that can be attached to a wall. All the supply and load cable terminations can be completed before the main body and electronics are installed. This method ensures easier access when terminating cables, as well as ensuring no accidental damage to the rack's electronics by tradespeople.
